My secret desire to marry my Tivo continues to flourish. Last night I found out that I can, from my television, access tivo recordings I pulled down to my computer. It essentially brings back a copy to the Tivo Hard drive. I like it. I like it lots.

Yeah, that's the other side of TiVoToGo (TTG), commonly called TiVoToComeBack (TTCB). You can publish other MPEG2 content to the TiVo from a PC as well. And, if you haven't, check out http://www.Apps.tv/ and http://www.galleon.tv/

I'll check those out, thanks. :-) I've got Galleon on the box, but I haven't messed with Apps. I like being able to play my iTunes playlist, but strangely, galleon won't play songs I've purchased from iTunes via my Tivo, which strikes me as odd.

Songs purchased with iTunes are ONLY playable in iTunes or on an iPod (well, and that Motorola iPod/phone thing). They're wrapped with Apple's 'FairPlay' DRM and they refuse to license it to other vendors.

The TiVo itself will not play any AAC files, but there is a plugin for TiVo Desktop that transcodes any files playable in Windows Media Player (WMA, AAC, etc) into MP3 on the fly for the TiVo. Still won't help for iTunes Music Store purchases, but it will allow you to play back any CDs you've ripped to AAC in iTunes.

Yeah, my own music burned from CDs are in mp3 format so they play just fine. So I just have to live without my itunes impulse buys. ;-)
