Well, the Devil was in the details. There were two evil pockets, but otherwise the day was magnificent. I accomplished what I wanted to.

But the two little puffs of evil were as follows:

1)Traffic. Since I have the Prius, it didn't harm me, but man, there were a lot of people who got royally screwed this morning in the traffic department

2)Moving our health clinic's DSL line/modem/network. Three little boxes of equipment are involved. The DSL modem, the Sonicwall VPN router, and the network hub. Three different boxes, Three different power supplies. We label the power supplies so we knew which one went to which. We moved everything over to the new building, everything was going perfectly.

My coworker, P, a retired Air Force man who is a very conscientious fellow, gave me a mini-lecture on making sure you match the right power supply with the right device, because you could ruin your equipment. He tells me this (which I kinda knew...duh) as he is plugging in the power supply for the Sonicwall VPN.

The Sonicwall VPN emits a pop and billows out milky white smoke.

So, yeah. P put in the wrong power supply. The Sonicwall box is now a paperweight with a slightly foul electrical fire smell.

So, the Clinic will not have access to their company's network. That's kind of a bummer.

On the flipside, my Crumpler Bag arrived today!

Now I'm relaxing with a scotch on the rocks and listening to some music.

Also, this is day number two of falling to sleep to classical music. I find it most pleasant.

Ouch! and SonicWalls aren't cheap. We use them exclusively and even the little 10 license guys are pricey, but they are one of the best on the market and easy to configure.
