Yes, it is a testament to pop culture that a number of folks in my age range immediate thought of Popeye when the Tainted Spinach hit the news feeds.

Can we add e coli to the War on Terror? Because spending your day vomitting and having diarrhea should count as gastronimical terrorism.

But, what a big nasty bummer for the 60 plus people who got it. And they thought they were doing a good thing by eating spinach.

spinach salad is so much better and better for you than that damn lettuce crap (which had it's own problems a few weeks ago), but what am I gonna go now? go grazing in the grass? but there's always the pesticide thing to worry about -- hmmm seaweed? but what about the mercurey? soilent green?
