I caught Veronica Mars tonight.
Veronica and Keith both get slapped around this episode. Sure, they stay of severe trouble, but they will not leave this episode emotionally unscathed.

Parker's rape: surprise, surprise. It was virtually like Veronica's rape experience, and Veronica was present to stop it, only she assumed Parker was a slut. Fantastic dome-spinner for Veronica.

The writers gave a nod to the torture in Gitmo and Iraq via a sociology class. I wonder how many other television programs will be following suit?

I wonder if Kendal is actually dead. We never actually saw her shot. And only a few little droplets of blood are found...on a priceless painting. We haven't seen Kendal shot, and Keith Mars only said "someone got hurt". Not two people. Significant? Time will tell.

In the end, Veronica ends up experiencing the greed of the school journalism department, and she busts a sorority den mother using pot for medicinal purposes. Purportedly. She never did have a chance to verify those facts. By the end of the episode, Veronica feels bad about the Sorority bust and soured on journalism.

Nice Star-crossed line in the university union.

Okay, episode 1, Mac is distraught about Cassibeaver's death and their awkward, unfulfilling and tragic romance. She seems over it in this episode. Granted, watching Parker get raped probably helped her gain perspective.

Dick. Oh, Dick. He cleaned up and got genuinely witty in this episode. Is it possible to go from being a sloppy drunk who is dealing with the reality of two parents rejecting him and the death of his brother to a cogent chippendale at a sorority party? I guess Mac and Dick's plot lines were on hold.

I suppose they needed a little light after dealing with rape as the primary plot.

There were some good VM lines that came out of the sorority party. The faux lesbian dancing, etc.

Gilmore Girls is full-bore on relationship issues: newlywed, sexuality, booty calls and old flames. Chris dropped quite a bomb on Lorelai. Wow. Quite the nod to "Love in the time of Cholera".

By the way, I will neither confirm nor deny that I spent 2.5 hours playing City of Heroes with [livejournal.com profile] newbabel tonight. Or last night. Furthermore, I absolutely deny having been involved in the following dialogue:

A: Soon there will be wings.
B: I won't have wings for a year!
A: I know, honey; but you can watch my characters have wings.

And no, our characters are not shopping for feminine hygiene products.
