Some words of advice:

Don't watch Current TV when they air their little short on Portland, OR's Voodoo Donuts while you're hungry. Oh like I want to have a soy protein granola bar now.

Thankfully, I'm not close enough to Portland for this to be an issue. However, next time I make my Powell's run...I think I'll be wantin' some of that voodo that they do. Oh yes.

In other "bad for your diet" news, Chick Fil-A is going to put a store where the Krispy Kreme was located in Elk Grove.

ETA: I believe that [livejournal.com profile] taogrl had a Voodoo doughnut when we were in Portland. I think the local gaming internet cafe was selling them there.

Love ourselves some Voodoo up here in Stumptown. In addition to having the best, most cracktastic donuts in the world, they also have the best, most cracktastic hours -- they're open 23 hours/day. Many's a time that hubby and I have jaunted down there at 2 AM to satisfy a sweets craving. And their shop is something that really must be experienced first-hand.

Little tip -- you can order something called "The Bucket", which is a random selection of whatever donuts they pick for you for $5, as many as they can stuff in one of their pink cake boxes. Don't know how many that is, exactly, but the thing must weigh at least 5 lbs and they stuff it so full that the lid won't close all the way. A good way to sample several different kinds and so cheap! It's not on the menu, you just have to know to ask for it (one of those secrets of the natives, donchyaknow).
