Jan. 23rd, 2003 04:31 pmWhen I started work here nearly 10 years ago, I started out as an insurance agent. Since many of our members were military officers, we were trained to understand military ranks, abbreviations, and how to address these individuals.
Fast-forward to present day, I see an article on our corporate intranet: “Use Rank to Show Respect”. I sincerely hope that our corporate communications folks are just at a loss for news items. Any employee entering this company should have been trained on this protocol.
How could anyone have forgotten this? I tell ya. Our company really too a slide. To have to refresh communication on such a basic gesture of respect is ludicrous.
