Woman Forced to Relax in Carmel
Oct. 30th, 2005 02:25 pmIt's a lovely Sunday afternoon in Carmel. The time change was good for me. I finally feel right again; I've been an hour behind since spring.
Last night's bbq fete hosted by the lovely and talented pair,
shimaera and
kingofbreakfast, was quite a delight. I left my compact flash card reader at home, so no pics can be uploaded yet. You shall have to wait, gentle readers.
The experience was immensely enhanced with the companionship of the Michigan contingent:
clemidia,
srndipiti,
kejasobession, and
mattsastud and
innertorment. We took the "Hellbus" at high speeds to the Brazil Ranch. This bus ride highlighted the ebullient talents of those who are sensitive to vertigo or motion sickness. It also brought out the compassion in others.
Much mischief in public was made. You know, the kind of mischief that is beyond propriety, but just shy of a night in jail. Just the kind I like. I think I almost had
mattsastud convinced to set the Brazil Ranch horses free. Yeah, almost.
clemidia is big into dead pig licking. Hopefully she'll purvey the photographic proof of this pass-time. I expect her to squeal into the literary world with her new line of slow-roasted pig erotica.
I did manage to capture a magnificent picture of
kejasobsession faux-puking into a pumpkin centerpiece. I feel there should be a word coined for puking in centerpieces at wedding dinners. Centerpuking is one possibility. A phrase might do, as well. "Feeding the tablescape" is a possibility, too. Any ideas you have would be welcome!
This morning I awoke around 7am. Of course it felt like 8am. I showered and acquired some breakfast downstairs. The Green Lantern is a charming little venue, I must confess. It turns out one of the writers for "Lost" was also staying here, too. After breakfast, I decided I was going to take a walk-about. I grabbed my camera and sauntered down to the beach.
I rolled up my jeans, took off my shoes and socks, and shuffled down the sandy incline to the shore. I delighted in the sounds and sights that awaited me. Happy dogs frolicking along the shore, gorgeous surfers, friendly pedestrians, and a patient mother helping her son dig a big ditch in the sand. The sound of the waves is always calming, and the fresh air was exquisite.
My return trip to the pavement was wonderful, giving me reason to relish my current fitness status. After dusting off my sandy toes and putting on my shoes, I began to head towards Carmel to look around at the shops. More quality cardio exercise was acquired. There were numerous fine shops, and as many tourists milling about through them. I also found a venue where I could purchase very expensive paper products.
All and all, a fine morning, featuring some much-enjoyed relaxation.
I'm not sure what else I will get up to today. At some point, I will have to slip into my pirate wench costume.
