And so it goes.
I ordered the HD-DVD attachment to the Xbox 360 since the price went down. It arrived yesterday. I set it up, follow the instructions, it looks good. So I put in an HD-DVD. It sits there in "Reading" Mode, mocking me. I put in another HD-DVD. Same thing. No error messages, just "Reading".
After some dancing with Xbox customer support, which was very timely and friendly, I will have to have the new dvd repaired. Yeah. Xbox will be sending me a box to ship it to them, and they will ship it back.
In the mean time, I might as well submit the rebate request for the free 5 HD-DVDs that come with the new purchase.
Ah well.
As for me weighing in on the HD/Blu-ray debate. I figure $180 is not a huge committment to one format. I want to see what Netflix' HD-DVD rental setup is like and my subsequent investment in hd-dvds will be minimal.
