Ants, ants Everywhere...
Jun. 8th, 2002 04:16 pmThe guests are a smidge late...at least one of them who was supposed to arrive early. I'm milling about the house, opening some windows, enjoying the windy day. Then I notice ants crawling along my window latch. There's just a small scouting team. Not a full on assembly line.
!!!
I'm nearing my third year in this house, and ants are finally trying to invade. But I couldn't see where they entered. So I sprayed the inside and outside area of the window. I don't know if they are in the walls, or not.
Hmph. I'm going out of town for a week, and I hope they don't decide to launch a full on invasion during that time. I'll be hiding all the tasty treats from their little mandibles.

Undercover Brotha
Jun. 8th, 2002 11:51 pmWell, tonight was a good night.
My mother and Binky came over for dinner. Yes, I was finally introducing him to my parent (singular since I don't ever see my father).
Dinner was regarded well by both individuals. Score!
Binky brought wine and ice cream. We got to the wine; we didn't get to the ice cream. Score for me later!
Binky also brought a pirated copy of "Undercover Brother". Good fun, actually. Plenty of Blaxploitation references in there.
So, the parental introduction went well. We had lively conversation, never an awkward moment. I was most pleased.
Then mom left for the long drive home, and Binky and I ended up talking about a myriad of other things. We could still manage to do that if I didn't have to pack and get up at 3am to hit the airport to San Antonio.
I'm not sure if I'll even go to bed. I think I might, though. I am getting sleepy.
