A few weeks ago, I had seen the "reunion" of the Doors. I saw two old guys on the keyboards and guitar accompanied with two less old guys on vocals and drums.

I said to myself:

"They suck."
and
"Why is the lead singer trying to look like Morrison? They know he's dead. We know he's dead. I saw his grave."
and
"My God, is that the former drummer for the Police?!?"

Their performance was not very convincing, either. It was mechanical, lacking in passion, and perhaps drug free. The keyboardist looked like Harry Potter. I like Harry Potter, but I don't like him as Harry Potter.

Then I caught this article tonight off fark.com. I think reunions like this lack soul. Perhaps I am naive, but I tend to think that originally, they had a higher ideal in mind. It was something somewhat new and creative that they were endeavoring. Maybe they never really were. But now it seems abundantly clear hey are parrotting their old tunes. Hell, I know the Rolling Stones are milking it, but at least they are all still together, and [fairly] alive.

Speaking of Harry Potter, I did tap a potter-addicted vein and reserved my copy of the fifth book ("Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"). I'm contemplating showing up for the midnight madness event on June 20th, mainly for the sake of people watching. A friend of mine, the Mistress of Hosting Fun Costume Parties, will even be hosting a Potter party (a potty? ew) the following day.

I also caught wind of the bit of LJ news about limiting daily posts. Some people are upset about even paid members having limitations of the number of posts. I, frankly, don't think it's a big deal. They reason they are placing limitations are because they are having trouble with system traffic. I found it amusing that someone who did gripe about the limitation of 20 posts a day was a fairly vacuous windbag when it came to posts. I shudder to think that LJ has been bogged down by posts of people informing us of when they fed their cat, did their laundry and mailed a letter. Perhaps they can consider lumping those posts with more interesting self-reflections.

Not that I am saying that anything or everything I post is a scintillating contribution to society. At the same time, I'm not posting 20 mundane posts a day. I post perhaps 10 mundane posts every three days.

I think lj provides a lot of good features despite daily post limitations. I'm sure anyone who really can't abide by this limitation should build their own online journalling application and environment.

I was following my normal sleep-fogged routine of commuting into work on I-5 north. Though I'm still fairly groggy, my nimble fingers still surf the radio for a song I enjoy. I came across some radio station that has the "Bob and Tom" show. They recently did a song called "Cameltoe" (to the tune of the Beach Boys' Cocomo).

I've never heard so many euphemisms for the female anatomy in such a condensed time. Sideways Sloppy Joe made me swallow my gum.
