Feb. 8th, 2004 07:05 amGood morning,folks.
It's 7:05am, and I'm here babysitting our equipment while a special ceiling cleaning is going on in our computer area.
While personally, I'm not too thrilled to be here, the promise of additional filthy lucre aided me in getting up at 5:30 in the morning to give myself enough time to brew a metric ton of coffee in order to bolster my alertness this fine morn. I have plenty to keep me busy, ranging from the practical to the impractical.
Issues I'm contemplating:
-I feel the need to get more involved in my community, be it political or otherwise. Now I just need to decide what is the contribution I want to make.
-Marvelling at the idea that in the United States, we are all Americans. We want safe homes, healthy families, and the right to express our individuality. However, we can differ so significantly in how we need to arrive at those destinations. This fascinates me. I can not believe in God, yet the person right next to me will have a totally different belief. Yet we seem to be exposed to the same "real world".
-Non-wealthy Republicans strike me as fools. They are supporting people who do not wish to support them. This is not how Social Contracts should work. However, I'll take a Republican who is passionate and concerned about current events over someone who chooses to and claims to know nothing about political current events. At least there is a passion to care about the world around them.
