Ah, Monday Monday
Jan. 31st, 2005 08:54 amMonday has approached, and greeted with ambivalence. On the one hand, I'm one day closer to the next weekend. On the other hand, I'm one day farther from last weekend, which progressed much too quickly. I got some of the things done that I wanted to, but also didn't get things done. Hopefully I can make up for some of it this week in the evenings.
Here's an interesting article on the election results in Iraq. It is interesting to note that the Sunni's didn't want to support the elections, but the Shi'ites showed up quite well. And the group that is gaining majority results based on exit polls is not the same group that Iraq's Interim PM is in. That group came in 3rd. Of course, we'll see how the counts work out. I wonder if there will be different results.
I'm concerned about the Sunni reaction. You would hope that they would want to participate in such a voting opportunity. I wonder if that's going to be a recruiting pool for more insurgents bent on destabilizing Iraq.
