At long last, I am finally wising up and watching the Daily Show.

Just in time for him to cover Dr. Rice's testimony.

Tee hee.

Well, he plays back Dr.Rice's testimony and interjects some commentary. I'll try to give you a few quotes:

First, in filming her entrance, they played Darth Vader's theme song.

Second:
Stewart: As the testimony began most people wondered how Dr. Rice would refute the testimony given by Richard Clarke...now she would finally have the chance to put his incompetent, irresponsible allegations to bed...

Rice snipets: "We depended on the counter-terrorism group, chaired by Dick Clarke..."
"Dick Clarke was in contact with me quite frequently..."
"We also moved forward on some of the specific ideas that Dick Clarke had put forward..."
"I knew Dick Clarke to be an expert in his field, as well as an experienced crisis manager..."
Stewart: Wow...she certainly told it to that...experienced crisis manager!

As for Bush being quoted as "not wanting to swat at flies" with regard to Al Qaeda, Stewart clarified that Bush was actually talking about the staff picnic.

Stewart: Now, the Bush administration has been adamant about the pre 9/11 memos containing information that the Al Qaeda were threatening attacks outside of the United States...

Ben-Viniste: isn't it a fact, Dr.Rice that the August 6th PDB warned against possible attacks in this country?

Rice: It did not warn of the attacks inside the United States...It was historical information...

Stewart: Well, I guess the memo could be interpreted in many different ways.
Ben-Veniste: I ask you do you recall the title of the August 6 PDB?
Rice: I believe the title was Bin Laden Determined to Attack inside the United States...

Back to Stewart who has a look of consternation on his face.

Stewart: You're fuckin' kidding me, right? Please say...Puhlease say you're fuckin' kidding me!!!! Well, they didn't tell you that the Al Qaeda was in the United States, did they?

Rice: I believe Clark sent me a memo mentioning in only a line or two that Al Qaeda cells were in the United States...

Stewart: Well how long should that sentence be?...It doesn't need to be that long a sentence!!!!

And then he called Ben-Veniste Eugene Levy. Tee hee.
