...and yet I am farther from my bed than I should be.

How went the rest of my day? It went splendidly, thank you!

Spent the evening with [livejournal.com profile] taogrl having girltalk in our own special way.

Highlights:
Her: If that happened to me, I would leave. I would call a friend up and say "pick me up right now" and just leave. Oh no. That was uncalled for. And if I ever make that phone call to you, you damn well better come pick me up.
Me: [laughing] Of course.
Her: Oh no. That was unacceptable. No. [gesticulations]
Me: I agree. Hence our mutual singlehood.
Her. Yeah.

Her: I think he's the type who makes out with women alot, but that's all.
Me: I dunno. He must not be very good at it, then. Because if you're good at making out, it isn't going to stop at making out.
Her: [knowing nod] Oh yeah.
Me: And if he's a lousy kisser, that's when you make up the excuse about having to go home and change your grandma's colostomy bag.

I got a fraudulent email from ebay tonight. It was a little tricky in that the textual representation of the hyperlink looked valid, but the actual link took you to a non ebay site. Remember, kids, don't listen to emails that try to get you to verify your financial information in such a fashion.

My nextel phone arrived tonight. I shall charge it up tonight and then activate it in the morning.

phishing scams...

That's your first fraudulent eBay email? Lucky you! I think I get at least 5 phishing attempts per day in my tons of spam...Citibank, US Bank, Amazon, eBay, & PayPal are the most common I still get...but I even saw one once several months ago spoofing the FDIC.gov! I checked their website & they already had the phishing warning on the front page of the authentic site, so that's good...since my spam filter often marks valid email from strangers about my website as spam, I go through it all myself anyway...

Being a domain-owner since 1996, my email is on so many spam lists I have given up...just as a recent example, I had 6000+ emails when I got back from my 3 weeks away! ;)

It wasn't the first fraudulent email I received, but it was probably one of the better forgeries I've seen. Often it's fairly easy to tell right off (beyond the red flag that a company is asking to verify your financial information) that it's a fraudulent email.

But yes, you have a hideous spam problem. ;-)
