Today I have the day off from work. I must say, it was lovely sleeping in. Oh yes.

The main reason I'm off, however, is to wait for the garage repairman. Something sinister is afoot with either my door or my opener. We shall find out...

In other news, I must thank the handsome and brilliant [livejournal.com profile] scarcrest for showing me the way to this entry on why we should vote for Kerry made by [livejournal.com profile] miracleman.

Of course, I'm not sure this will win anyone over who currently plans to vote for Bush, but it about sums up my sentiments.

Ah, tell me why you thought it was "kindstupi".

And if you haven't made up your mind yet...

lol i meant kinda stupid. i'm so tired my typing is worse than usual. it didn't provide all that much in the way of facts. the beginning and end could have just been cropped. and while saying nuclear wrong, learning from reagan, and then his father is annoying, it's not enough for me to not vote for him. i'm not convinced Kerry has a plan for Iraq. And while he had maybe 2 reasons not to vote for Bush when you digest it down tot he heart of the matter, which i do agree with, doesn't alleviate my concerns with Kerry. no one really says many good things abotu kerry it seems, it's all don't vote for bush cause of this and that. and aain i agree, i just have problems with kerry that prevents me from picking option B just because option A sucks, for fear option B is as bad, or worse.

i think i'll be glad when it's over, my vote isn't going to decide the election anyway. i think there are more important things for me to vote on this time hten president, and i may not even pick one and just let the chips fall where they may, and hope for the best. i have a feeling i'll be unhappy either way, and i cross my fingers and hope for the best and to be pleasnatly surprised. and hope whoever wins, maybe you guys see things i don't, or that if you roll the dice, america wins.

Yes, I figured you were tired when you typed this. Get to bed, man! (I should follow my own advice, here). However, it's always funny to see someone say something was stupid, and then blow the spelling and spacing out of the water. ;-)

The link I provided was rant-oriented, but the facts are out there.

When you think about Kerry discussing a plan for Iraq, he can't go into specifics. You just can't cover it in a speech. And people get bored easily and won't be able to continue to pay attention. I think this is as good as you're going to get on his plan: http://www.johnkerry.com/issues/national_security/iraq.html

There's a great deal of credence to the notion that Kerry will get better support Internationally than Bush has. I talk to friends overseas and there are folks who have a dim view of the choices we've made in the International arena. We've got a great deal of problems cropping up (Korea and Iran with nuclear advancements that are not in dispute).

I don't know if you've read the articles I've posted from Lt. Col. Kwietkowski, but they are here: http://www.militaryweek.com/withoutreservation.shtml#kklist

She's a conservative, she's military, and she doesn't support Bush. She's not thrilled about Kerry either. She'll probably vote independent. But Bush have definitely disgraced himself.

I encourage you to make your vote count in some fashion, as opposed to not picking a president. Despite the lack of enthusiasm for the politicians, it is still a vital honor that we have. And we only do it every four years. We may not always have the best choices with which to make our decisions, but it is incumbent upon us to make the best decisions possible. That's our duty. :-)

yeah i did go to bed, that proved i needed to.

well we're already trainign iraqis and tryign to work on a government. as for the international thing, well i obviously can't speak to that since i live here. maybe in a way we get the best of both worlds, we get someone who went into iraq without the support we couldn't get, but then we say well no, that guy made a mistake, we put the other guy in who changes the tune even though we're the same country. i hope if Kerry does get elected, he does get more international support. Maybe we will find out.

No i haven't but again, i'm not a bush supporter, i just have issues with Kerry as well.

how do i make my vote count if i don't want either one of them in office really? my vote is my endorsement, and i really can't vote for either. And voting for anyone other than the 2 is essentially the same as abstaining. Either way my vote won't matter. So while it's my duty and all, and yeah we have this wonderful opportunity to make a difference, it's really a fallacy because it's the same crap either way.

like i described in the simpson's episode, it's a 2 party system you have to pick one of us. well you may as well take my vote away if you're telling me i only have to pick one of these 2. i can't feel good about choosing either.
