Avogadro's Number
Nov. 28th, 2004 10:17 pmThanks to a lovely conversation with
dslartoo while he was supposed to be working, I was either reminded, or learned for the first time, of Avogadro's number. For those who are forgetful/ignorant like I am, Avogadro's Number is 6.022 x 1023. That is to say, for any given chemical substance, there are 6.022 x 1023 molecules per gram mole.
A lesser known fact of Amadeo Avogadro is that he is a descendent of Gollum1.

And an ancestor of Betty Davis2.
Now you know.3
--------------
1. No.
2. No.
3. Hell no.

It's amazing how many moons keep falling in between high school, college, and now. Well, it's not amazing really, but still, it is.
