My alarm went off recently, and things were going smoothly for a polite amount of languishing in bed. I marveled over the fact that Tivo has found something on the oxygen channel it wants to recommend to me, forcing my tv to be on this hideous talk show called the lifestyle. Jon Cryer was on. He still looks 18. Isn't he 40 plus by now? And the poor bastard has to peddle his sitcom. With Charlie Sheen. Ugh.

And then. And then it starts raining. Isn't there a law that states if it starts raining while you're still in bed, you're allowed to stay in bed? Surely there is.

Last night taogrl came over and we watched Sideways. I love that movie, despite my desire to bitch-slap the main characters. If only for the quote, 'I am not drinking any fucking Merlot!"

If there's not a law about staying in bed, there should be. We should march on Capitol Hill, using meteorologists as our money-bearing interest group, and find some rookie Congress-person to introduce a bill for that very purpose.

I remember when I used to waitress at the gourmet pizza place we had a wine seller come in to give us a demonstration and taste lesson with wines...got to try some different flavors from Ecco Domani, so that's where I learned to like the pino grigio. Of course, when the guy left the wine bottles afterwards (on the table that happened to be in my section) I took about 6 half full bottles of different wines and said "Yoink! Tip!"

Sideways is a great movie!!! I've been contemplating buying it myself. My favourite scene is where Paul Giamatti's character grabs the bottle of wine and runs away down the hill, drinking it right from the bottle as he's running.
