"Directing him how to proceed, at her festival, to re-obtain his human shape, she says: "Throughout the entire course of the remainder of thy life, until the very last breath has vanished from thy lips, thou art devoted to my service...Under my protection will thy life be happy and glorious: and when, thy days being spent, thou shalt descend to the shades below, and inhabit the Elysian fields, there also, even in the subterranean hemisphere, shalt thou pay frequent worship to me, thy propitious patron: and yet further: if through sedulous obedience, religious devotion to my ministry, and inviolable chastity, thou shalt prove thyself a worthy object of divine favor, then shalt thou feel the infulence of the power that I alone posess."
-Morals and Dogma, p. 387
Wow! That was a handful of a quote. I had to read prior to that to figure out the context. It appears, ironically (for me) enough, to be regaling Apuleius' tale of Lucius, entitled "The Golden Ass". Lucious apparently encounters Isis, or her other variations depending on your culture. I guess the Masons felt it was time to retell some yarns.
Today was a fairly good day. I am near prepared for my brother and sister in-law's visit. I acquired a new blanket and comforter for them, since my old one was from my childhood days and a wee inadequate. I have moved the litter to my study, actually, and tonight will be the first night that the wee predators will experience a new litter box. I have introduced them both to the location, and shut the bathroom, so they don't try and go back into the tub. The tub will be undergoing some disinfection and cleaning, shower curtain changed, etc., so that it will be de-cattified. For those just joining us, I put the litterbox in the tub because they tend to be wicked litter trackers, and I wanted to increase the distance between carpet and litterbox. For the short term, I can vacuum my rug. (I already do vacuum the rug, but against litter, it takes me longer to vacuum).
Now I return to work after a very quick week off. Boy, it zoomed by. Back to our regularly scheduled programming.
