Should Food Be Cute?

Trader Joe's is selling "Mini-Baguettes", they look like miniature baguettes and are slightly bigger than a soft breadstick. I like to call them Shetland Baguettes. Tasty.

I really, really want one now. But we have no Trader Joe's here.

But Shetland Baguette is the cutest name ever.

I'm glad you agree. I think if you add "Shetland" to any noun, it becomes automatically cute, because it conjures up imagines of little Shetland ponies or sheep dogs. However, I think my "shetlandification" of other nouns would probably fall flat with the true Shetlanders. Thankfully, they don't read my journal.
