I have a friend who's a genuine Sybil-style multiple personality (though much more stable than poor Sybil at the time of diagnosis). I have another two who are severely dissociative and will forget things that make them emotionally uncomfortable. And I myself have night terrors when I'm in a stressful period - as in I will wake up wondering what the heck the terrible racket is, and *then* realize that I'm screaming my lungs out for absolutely no reason.
Um, the screaming thing has only happened a few times in my life, and always during a stressful time (graduation, parent in hospital, etc). I am much saner than that anecdote probably made me seem. ;-)
The ep was "Role Model" from the fist season. It was a clinic subplot in that episode, and seriously, it's really worth watching. Both for the main story, the clinic subplot, and the moment when Wilson goes, "Oh boy are you in trouble!"
As far as the Sydney woman's story, I have to say that from what I've read about in the past, I actually have little difficulty believing she was in fact sleepwalking.
